“It’s amazing to win back-to-back championships,” Herrera said. “This team has worked so hard all year long and to see it pay off like this is truly special. I can’t thank them enough for their dedication and hard work.”
Despite the championship already being clinched, Herrera continued his dominance in eliminations, going 6.787 to defeat Jerry Savoie in the quarterfinals before falling to Scotty Pollacheck in the semifinals. The loss didn’t dampen Herrera’s spirits, as he celebrated another incredible season and a well-deserved championship.
“To win two championships in a row is something I never could have imagined,” Herrera said. “I’m just so grateful for this opportunity and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for me and this team.”
The 2024 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series season concludes with the awards ceremony on Monday night at the Sheraton Fairplex Hotel, where Brown, Anderson, and Herrera will officially be crowned as world champions in their respective categories.
