Volkswagen Canada and Electrify Canada are celebrating the return of an icon with the start of deliveries to customers of the new ID. Buzz, fully electric, at dealerships across the country.
The ID. Buzz combines retro design elements with the latest EV technology in an instantly recognizable appearance. Starting with the huge VW logo on the front, the exterior and interior of the Buzz are clean and modern, while remaining true to the original’s heritage.
The Buzz offers Canadians a unique and fully electric interpretation of the passenger transport vehicle.
To ensure that its performance matches its aesthetics, the ID. Buzz is equipped with a 91 kWh battery and 282 horsepower in rear-wheel drive models, while 4MOTION® all-wheel drive models reach a maximum power of 335 horsepower.
The seating capacity is six or seven, depending on the motor choice, and the range of exterior and interior colors allows for maximum customization.
In collaboration with Electrify Canada, the 2025 ID. Buzz will include a charging plan that will offer early owners 1400 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of free DC fast charging.
Owners will have up to four years from the date of purchase or lease to use the charging plan, ensuring that drivers can easily and conveniently adopt electric mobility in the growing Electrify Canada network, which already operates over 200 DC fast charging stations in seven provinces.
The ID. Buzz 2025 charging plan includes the Plug&Charge fast charging feature, a payment feature that allows electric vehicle owners to start a charge without needing to use their wallet, smartphone, or bank card, simply by plugging their vehicle into Electrify Canada stations.
New owners are advised to download the Electrify Canada mobile app to facilitate enrollment in the charging plan, activate Plug&Charge, locate stations, or check the status of chargers.
Electrify Canada’s DC fast chargers are ideal for meeting the ID’s requirements. The Buzz’s maximum DC fast charging acceptance rate is 200 kW, allowing its high-voltage battery to be charged from 10% to 80% in just 26 minutes, or provide up to 130 km of fully electric range in just 10 minutes.*
