Regardless, Mazda enthusiasts can still hold out hope for a true successor to the Mazda6 with rear-wheel drive. If consumer demand shifts back towards sedans, we may see Mazda reconsider their stance on developing a new Mazda6 on a new rear-wheel-drive platform. Until then, we can continue to appreciate the current lineup of Mazda vehicles while keeping an eye out for any potential future developments in the sedan segment.
