Physical touch is a powerful way to reconnect with your partner. “Hold hands, hug, and kiss to show affection and love,” relationship expert Terri Orbuch, PhD, tells Psychology Today. “Touching and feeling close to your partner releases oxytocin, a hormone that plays a role in bonding and attachment.”
9. Write Love Notes

A simple love note can go a long way in reminding your partner how much you care. “In the age of technology, a handwritten note is rare and meaningful,” says psychologist Nikki Martinez, PsyD, in an interview with Bustle. “It shows your partner you took time out of your day to think of them, and that you wanted to make them smile.”

Expressing gratitude and appreciation for your partner can strengthen your relationship. “Acknowledging your partner’s efforts and expressing gratitude for them can go a long way in terms of relationship satisfaction,” psychologist Jennice Vilhauer, PhD, tells Psychology Today. “It can be easy to take our partners for granted, but by making an effort to notice and appreciate the little things they do, we can create a positive cycle of giving and receiving in our relationships.”
