Koto, a global design studio, has revealed a new identity in honor of Microsoft’s 50th anniversary. The design celebrates the tech giant’s legacy while acknowledging those who continue to drive innovation today. Microsoft holds a special place in many people’s hearts, from childhood memories of using their first computer to enjoying classic games and software. Koto’s campaign, titled ‚Change Needs Makers,‘ pays tribute to the individuals behind Microsoft’s success and highlights the company’s ongoing evolution. The campaign features three storytelling structures: Worlds, Iconic Moments, and Then & Now, which showcase Microsoft’s past, present, and future achievements. The visual language of the campaign combines familiar elements with fresh design concepts, including a revamped 50th-anniversary logo and a vibrant color palette. According to Cassidy Moriarty, Koto’s strategy director, the campaign aims to honor Microsoft’s legacy while inspiring the next generation of innovators. Creative director Joe Ling emphasizes that every design choice was intentional, aiming to showcase Microsoft as a driving force for creativity and achievement.
