Von heilig zu geteilt: Trinitatiskirche in Bath wird als kreativer Coworking-Hub wiedereröffnet

A new era has dawned for Trinity Church in Bath, as it has been transformed into a vibrant coworking space for creatives. Once a vital part of the Afro-Caribbean community in the city, the church had been abandoned since its closure in 2011.

Now, thanks to Gather Round, the Victorian Gothic landmark has been lovingly restored and repurposed into a workspace for creatives. Founded by Ben Steers and Jason Smith of Fiasco Design, Gather Round aims to provide inspiring and flexible studio spaces for creative professionals. The initiative, established in Bristol in 2019, now has over 300 members across multiple sites and has now expanded to Bath with the transformation of Trinity Church.

Collaborating with local design and construction specialists, the interior of Trinity has been carefully redesigned to balance modern functionality with respect for the building’s original features. Crafted elements and custom-designed additions enhance the space, while a sustainable heating system ensures comfort without compromising the architectural integrity.

The result is a coworking space that feels like a creative sanctuary, offering a mix of workspaces, meeting rooms, and communal areas. The former altar now serves as an auditorium for events, while the Vestry doubles as a social space during the day and an elegant venue at night.

This transformation of Trinity Church pays homage to its past as a cultural hub for the Afro-Caribbean community, echoing Gather Round’s commitment to bringing people together through design and creativity.
