When directors cast me as the antagonist, I often wonder what dark qualities they see in me. Do they even see a dark side, considering there have been many nasty characters I’ve portrayed? Personally, I don’t think I’m dark at all; I believe I’m quite nice.
My performances tend to delve into morally ambiguous characters, like Christian in The Square and Dracula. I am drawn to these roles because they offer more complexity to explore, like playing with Legos. Despite being dark figures, I find humanity in them by relating to their insecurities and flaws.

Mastering the crossbow for William Tell required a lot of practice to make it believable, as he is a skilled archer. Filming with a crossbow posed unique challenges compared to using a gun, as it is a live weapon. Learning this skill, along with portraying a blood-sucking character like Dracula, was quite intricate and challenging.

Playing Dracula in the 2020 miniseries was a favorite performance of mine. While initially hesitant about reprising the role, the unique approach by Mark Gatiss and Steven Moffat intrigued me. Exploring a different side of Dracula and potentially continuing his story in a second series was an exciting prospect.
Acting in Danish and English does bring out different aspects of my performance. I feel I have more humor in English than in Danish, which adds a different dynamic to my acting. Despite English not being my first language, I sometimes feel more liberated and expressive when performing in it.

There was a brief comparison to Pierce Brosnan early in my career, but it’s not something that happens often. As for playing James Bond, at my age, I believe I wouldn’t make a good fit for the role.
People occasionally recognize me as the nickname from Bad Sisters, which can be amusing and surprising. It’s a fun interaction, and I sometimes play along with it to add some humor to the situation.

Working with Mick Jagger and Donald Sutherland on The Burnt Orange Heresy was an incredible experience. Jagger’s humility and sweetness on set were remarkable, and his presence brought a sense of love to the production.

Being compared to James Mason and envisioned as an investigator type in film noir is flattering. While I appreciate the nostalgia for classic cinema eras, I also enjoy the modern storytelling and diverse roles available today.
